Madoka Kyouno is an energetic girl who is full of passion. She is the proud, and only, member of the Kamogawa Girls’ High School Jersey Club; she goes around helping people in need.

One morning, as Madoka wishes the best for everyone, she sees a girl drowning near the shore. Without a second thought, she runs and dives to save the girl. For some strange reason, Madoka wears her swimsuit under the school uniform.

Once she returns after saving this girl, she can’t find her clothes and runs to school with her wet suit. At school, she begins her usual routine and starts helping her peers. She plays tennis, practice kendo and participate in a movie.

As the day comes to an end, a strange girl calls her name. Then out of the blue, she begins to take of her clothes, it’s Madoka’s uniform. But, as she thanks her for returning the uniform, this mysterious girl disappears.

At home, Madoka reunites with her sister, who has been away for a half year or so. The reunion lasts just a moment, because Madoka’s sister receives a call and leaves. But before leaving, she tells Madoka to call her if anything strange happens.

The next day, Madoka’s life is turned upside down when she is suddenly asked by the mysterious girl, Lan, to pilot a robot. Motivated by her desire to protect the people and city of Kamogawa, Madoka agrees to pilot the resurrected Vox robot to fight against extraterrestrials that have come to attack Earth.

Main Characters

Madoka Kyouno is the sole member of a Jersey Club who often helps out other clubs and people in need and is passionate about her home town of Kamogawa. She has a habit of saying “maru” (meaning ‘circle’, the kind used to mark tests) when she finishes helping someone. She soon discovers she has the ability to pilot a strange robotic aircraft known as the Vox Aura, which she previously encountered ten years ago when she almost drowned. She names this Vox unit Midori, after its green colour.

Lan is an alien who was sent to protect Madoka and the aircraft. She is not used to earth culture and often picks up terms from the strangest sources. She was initially unable to properly utilise her Vox unit as the knowledge of a supposed fate concerning Vox pilots caused her to become afraid. However, Madoka helps her overcome her fear and she becomes able to use her Vox unit, Vox Lympha, which she names Orca. She is particularly jealous towards Muginami, who shows a lot of interest in Madoka, which leads to her joining the Jersey Club and begin living with Madoka. Due to her luxurious upbring as princess of the planet Le Garite, Lan has few understanding of the commoners’ lifestyle.

Muginami is another Ovid pilot who transfers in Madoka’s class and joins the Jersey Club. Although she appears to have a slow-witted personality, she is actually sharp and perceptive. Born on a Prison Planet, she views Villagiulio as an older brother and by his orders, she infiltrated the Pharos base to steal one of the ovids, thus she ends up becoming the pilot of Vox Ignis, which she nicknamed Fupo. After being betrayed and abandoned by Villagiulio, Muginami finds herself a new place among Madoka and her friends. More at: Wiki
