Chaos Theory

It doesn't really have much to do with anime, but I was preparing an oral report about a short story I read for English that had to do with Chaos Theory. I got way too into reading about Chaos Theory and now I want to discuss it. Is there any interest in this subject here? Or is it just me?

well its not really much to say about it really its what only an predetermined outcome of something that wont change i think, i cant remember exactly.

Oh... well, chaos seem to be a must in nature, and suddenlyu we've seen that chaos is part of our dynamic world, for good, and not so x.x

Well from what I've learned about chaos theory, it is the theory that in a random system, there is a pattern that can be significantly altered with small changes to initial values. Basically, if you start with the number 1, you would get a pattern, but if you started with 1.00000001, the pattern could drastically change. It's not so much chaos as we know it, as it is patterns in seeming chaos.

:lol: Well, yeah, chaos theory seems to explain why things behave in a certain way and what might happen if we change a little variable.

I guess it can be applied to everything, think about politics, Obama was ready to be president weeks ago, now, everything has changed and Obama must recharge hiscampaign if he wants to beat oldie Mac.

But as a theory, if is more math oriented, no? :p

Yeah, this is a pretty math-oriented theory, but it was first discovered by a meteorologist, so it also has a lot of real applications. I plan on picking up a book on Chaos Theory soon to learn some more about it.
