Rant about Anime!

Might as well have a thread to rant about anime we've watched or anime we want to watch.

I just finished episode 5 of Pani Poni Dash and I'm already in love with this show!!! All the characters are awesome and the story is absolutely random. I can't get enough of Himeko (Maho!)
Also, I just finished Lucky Star. It's too bad it had to end, but at least there is an OVA coming out soon!

Has anyone else watched Pani Poni Dash or Lucky Star? What did you think of them?

i watch a little of pani poni dash before i had to delete it because of space issuse but i redling it cause i want to finish it. i like the teacher who was like 8 yrs old she so kawaii and funny i really enjoyed that one. as for lucky star, that was great to watch konota is awesome i want more.

Oh, about PaniPoni, it is hard to watchit, you must read a lot of references while watching the anime, it does have so many jokes about unknown stuff for us :P

Agreed, also whats up with Ichijou?! In episode 6 she opens up a trap door that releases snake demons! Why?! I really like the little bits after the credits that usually make absolutely no sense, but have Becky doing some crazy facial expression. At least the fansubs have the notes, but I have to pause like 10 times per episode just to understand them.

I've been watching the DVDs some too, and I love the voice acting, but it gets too confusing without the extra edits made by fansubbing groups. Also, some of the writing isn't translated.

Angry rant time: Adult Swim changed their lineup so that Code Geass comes on at 5:00 am on Sunday!! They replaced the old timeslot with a replay of that last 2 hours. That means they placed more importance on playing 4 episodes of Metalocalypse(what the hell is that!?!) than playing a single episode of Code Geass!!

I guess I have to go back to watching subs now, the dubs were pretty good too...

Yeah! Code Geass managed to get a lot of good voice-actors, and its a lot easier to pay attention to the action when there are dubs.

Spanish dubs are a little bit better than american, specially because of the language use and the acting. Still, I keep 4me away of any kind of dubs. :lol:

Yeah, latino dubs, spaniards are really different. Latino can are spicy and really funny ^.^

Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia are the best dubing series, I prefer towathc originals, but sometime you canbe lazy and watch Discovery Channel in spanish, it iseasier to understand technical stuff :P

dubs are evil, but there are a few, very few anime that i like in English, and there all a bit old.

Mostly just random anime info that didn't fit anywhere else. You really should watch it!!! If you liked Lucky Star and wanted more, this is perfect. So far I've watched about 24 minutes of it and I'm saving the rest(it's about 42 minutes i think) for later. The subs are very good too, only the lucky channel is unsubbed(I've heard).

I was surprised to find out D Gray Man has been completed. I was up to ep 99 of 103, the story was no where near the end. I'm kind disappointed it has to end so suddenly.

Has anyone heard of the anime This Ugly Yet Beautiful World? (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2836) I started watching it recently and I really like it. The problem is that it's so hard to find! I found a torrent for it, but now I'm stuck at 97% and the only other place I've gotten it is on Exiled-Destiny's irc channel.

That's where I got the torrent that has me stuck at 97.5% :( but it does look like one person is seeding it, just it isn't reaching poor me. Luckily, the nice folks on #Exiled-Destiny have been giving me episodes of it, I just have to wait in line for a really long time.

This is a reccommendation for those who like movies and great anime. its called

I just started watching School Rumble, and I'm worried about where they're going to take the story. It seems like every time something happens, it all adds up to nothing. Has anyone else watched it that can tell me what I'm in for?

I only remember it's a funny show. It probably doesn't have a strong story/character development. It's been a while since I watched it, so I'm not so sure about it.

It drives me crazy the way they play with the story though, still a great show and funny too. Also, began watching Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and I was not disappointed. It was so ridiculous at the beginning and yet they still managed to pull it into a coherent plot. I recommend Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei if you are looking for mind blowing hilarity.

I have it too, but I can't watch it. CPU is not fast enough to decode at such big resolution. I figured you need atleast a quad-code, and have multithreaded decoder (such as FFDShow)

Has anyone been watching the new season of Haruhi? I just watched the latest episode only to realize it is the exact same episode with minor changes to camera angles and art. This is just laziness on the part of the producers. I understand that it is supposed to be an infinite time loop, but having an episode that EXACTLY copies the former is stupid. I want my 24 minutes back!!!
