Bee Train is developing a TV anime adaptation of Nitroplus’ visual novel game Phantom of Inferno. Phantom 〜Requiem for the Phantom〜 will be directed by Koichi Mashimo, who has plenty of previous experience helming girls-with-guns anime including Noir, Madlax, and El Cazador. Yousuke Kuroda (Demonbane, Gungrave) will compose the series’ scripts.


Third Nodame Cantabile in Fall
Animage Magazine announced that a third Nodame Cantabile anime television series will air in the Fuji TV network’s late night “Noitamina” time slot next fall.


ToLOVEru OVA in DVD release
Japan’s branch of online retailer Amazon now reports (http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/4089080959/animeinfo-22/ref=nosim) that the 13th collected volume of Saki Hasemi & Kentaro Yabuki’s sci-fi romanctic comedy manga To LOVEru -Trouble- will be available on April 3, 2009 in a limited edition that includes an anime OVA.


Hanasakeru Seishonen Anime in Spring
Natsumi Itsuki has announced (http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/ceiroro/diary/200812010000/) on her official blog that Studio Pierrot will produce a 39 episode television series adaptation of her shoujo manga Hanasakeru Seishonen.

Hanasakeru Seishonen is the story of a half-Japanese heiress transplanted from her ordinary high school days in Japan to a life in America filled with intrigue involving international oil and wealth distribution.


Mainichi Kaasan in April
Mainichi Newspaper has announced that its weekly Mainichi Kaasan (Every Day Mom) manga serial will be adapted into an anime television series for broadcast next spring.


Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas
Weekly Shonen Champion magazine announced an anime adaptation of the ongoing Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meio Shinwa manga series. The prequel series, written by St. Seiya creator Masami Kurumada and illustrated by Shiori Teshirogi, is set in the mid 1700s, detailing the story of Tenma, Alone, and Sasha - the 18th century incarnations of Pegasus Seiya, Hades, and Athena.


Katanagatari Anime Announced
The online stores Honya Town and Rakuten Books have posted (http://www.honya-town.co.jp/hst/HTdispatch?nips_cd=9983967243) the cover of NisiOisin's Maniwagatari novel, which announces that an animated version of NisiOisin's earlier Katanagatari light novel series has been green-lit.

The 12-volume historical epic centers on Shichika Yasuri, the seventh generational head of the Kyotō-ryū school of martial arts in medieval Japan. He and his older sister Nanami live on an isolated island, until a military advisor named Togame tells him of the final 12 swords forged by a legendary swordsmith.


Eden of the East has a great director
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Seirei no Moribito director Kenji Kamiyama will direct Eden of the East (Higashi no Eden). Honey & Clover creator Chika Umino will provide character designs. The series will premier in April.


New Bubblegum Crisis Announced
Japanese anime production studio AIC (Anime International Company) has issued a press announcement (http://www.anime-int.com/news/pdf/BubblegumCrisisPressRelease.pdf) revealing plans to revive a number of its older anime properties. The announcement specifically cites plans for the development of new live action and anime based on the 1987 Bubblegum Crisis (BGC) franchise.


07-Ghost in April
An official website was launched to confirm an anime based on Yuki Amemiya & Yukino Ichihara’s fantasy adventure manga series 07-Ghost.

The production will be directed by Takamoto Nobuhiro (Sasami: Magical Girl Club, Wandaba Style) and written by Takahashi Natsuko (Jyu-Oh-Sei, School Rumble). More at: AN (http://www.animenation.net/)

I hope its more anime and less live action...

They should also revive Dirty Pair, while they at it! :3:

Phantom Requiem? sound like and interesting show, hope its decent.
