So... the birds are singing once again, the sunshine is starting to warm everything around, what does it mean? Springtime is right next to us, and that also means that a new season of colors and interesting series are ready to start.

The Spring 2009 season comes with some interesting series, and as usual, some known faces. First of all, you'll be able to pet a new season for Chi's Sweet Home. But don't think that's the only fluffy animals you'll get. In what seems to be a stuffed trend for the upcoming months, Sugar Bunnies Fleur and Jewel Pets will make you think twice before asking for extra cuteness.

And how about Dragon Ball Kai, is it possible to add something else to the DB zaga? We will find out soon.

Now, if you are a mecha fan, expect a couple of series, with a very intriguing series in Valkyria Chronicles. And what about some action with series like Phantom ~Requiem of Phantom~, Guin Saga or 07-Ghost.

Also, some comedies will be available, like the Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!!, Hayate no Gotoku 2, K-ON!, Cross Game or Tayutama ~Kiss on my Deity~.

And finally, and probably the most expected anime this season, a remake of Full Metal Alchemist airs with a lot to prove, since the available trailers do not seem to bring anything new.

Wait... no ecchi anime? You know there will be, and one in particular comes to mind... Queen's Blade -Rurou no Senshi- is for you.

Great! Let's hope to see good animes this season :D I'm looking foward FMA2 of course *-* and also Saki, K-ON! and since I was a fan of the DB series I'm also interested in DB Kai :)

I know for a fact that Valkyria Chronicles will be amazing. i have the game and it was and still is the best ps3 game out.
i saw the PV and it look amazing. cant wait to see it. all the custom characters from the game appear in the anime as well. this maybe the only good show this season.

i saw the trailer for higasho no eden and it was interesting. and im sure tear to tiara will be interesting.

Here is some really impressive news - Funimation is going to webcast the new Full Metal Alchemist series, for free, in Japanese with English subtitles, four days after the Japanese TV broadcast. Here is the official Funimation news release. They are calling it "Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood".

This ought to cause a lot of English language fansubbers to find something else to do with their spare time.

Wow, go Funimation! Has an anime studio ever done that before?

I've always thought that watching anime on your computer should be free since the people in Japan get to watch it for free (on TV), so I hope more studios follow this trend. :3:

i've seen most of the shows this season and my top 5 favorites this spring in this order are

1. Valkria chronicles
2. higashi no edan
3. tears to tiara
4. k-on!
5. Basquash

Valkyria is your favorite? :o Have you played the game? I loved the game but I heard many people say the anime isn't as good as the game (I haven't started watching the anime yet).

ok i've seen a bit more and decided to change my lineup appropriately

1. Edan of the east - illusionist magic... wow that was too funny.
2. higurashi no naku koro ni Rei ova (3) - yes an ova is my second favorite. it was that good.(let rika show you how to handle bullies)
3. Valkyria chronicles - no not as good as the game but better than most of the shows this season.
4. Hanasakeru Seishounen - for some reason this is a really interesting show. it must be burnsworth's personality.
5. 07-ghost / Basquash! tie - because dunk mask is legendary. and i like basketball
