Finally, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu Second Season?

However, Heisei Democracy has obtained information from a reliable source that indicates that an announcement will be made on the seventh of July (7/7/07) regarding the second season of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.

The second page of the magazine scan clearly states “ハルヒ二期決定” or “Haruhi Second Period Decided”. We won’t know for sure until July the 7th, and sure there’s still a way this could all fizzle out.

UPDATE:
On 7/7/7 at 9pm Tokyo Time a video was posted to haruhi.tv which appeared to show Haruhi and Kyon vandalizing a school field. This was previously announced in a full-page ad in the Asahi Shinbun, rendering the site site badly borked at the appointed time, and the video was only available for about an hour.

it's was like waiting for the last epiodes of code geass to air.... straight pain in the ass.

Reportedly the june issue of Japan’s Newtype Magazine implies that the planned second Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi anime television series will not be a narrative sequel to the 2006 television series, but rather an entirely new series that disregards the earlier anime.

The March issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Newtype Mag is announcing the premiere of a Haruhi Suzumiya anime, which is supposed to premiere on April.

Based on the revealed news on the mag, makers of the novel; Noizi Ito the illustrator, and Nagaru Tanigawa the Author. The mag will feature the staffs on this new series, also written there is an interview on Yasuhiro Takemoto which is the director of the first season.

But... according to ANN, the J-Cast News website reports (http://www.j-cast.com/2009/02/04035406.html) that it contacted a public relations representative from the Kadokawa Shoten Animation Group about Kadokawa's recent television advertisement.

The ad revealed the Haruhi Suzumiya anime cover on the company's Newtype magazine issue that ships on February 10. The representative said the group is absolutely not making an announcement now.

On the topic of the April television debut mentioned on the magazine cover, the representative reportedly said, "It is a rebroadcast. It is broadcasting mainly on Teletama and other UHF stations".

It seems the rerun in japanese TV has some extras, the recent episode seems to be part of the new anime series... I wonder if this means buying the previus boxset was a total lost of money :annoy:

Well... new episodes seem to be aired inside the original storyline, of course, there were several mini-stories inside, so i guess the new chapters will be almost unrelated.

Don't know, I'm a little disappointed. u.u

That's right, this new episodes will be inside the first story, it seems the new episode will be the 8th episode inside the story.
