The official Japanese homepage for the 2007 Nodame Cantible anime television series has announced that a second series, titled “Nodame Cantible: Pari Hen” (Nodame Cantible: Paris Chapter), will premier as a new installment of Fuji Television’s late night “Noitamina” time-slot beginning in October.
Hells Angels becoming OVA
Newtype Magazine revealed that Madhouse is now developing its long delayed anime adaptation of Hiromoto Sin-Ichi & Yasushi Nirasawa’s 2003 comedy/horror/adventure manga series Hells Angels. Madhouse first revealed plans to produce an anime version of Hells Angels in 2005. The Madhouse homepage reveals that the Hells Angels anime will be OVA format.
Gainax to Animate Shikabane Hime
Gainax is presently developing an anime adaptation of Yoshiichi Akahito bloody action/horror manga series Shikabane Hime (”Corpse Princess”).
New Amano Anime Announced
Radical Publishing, the North American publisher of artist Yoshitaka Amano’s book Mateki: The Magic Flute, has revealed that Amano has plans to direct an anime adaptation of “Mateki,” itself an adaptation of Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute.
Letter Bee Anime Announced
The official Japanese website (http://www.tegamibachi.com/) for Hiroyuki Asada’s fantasy manga series Tegami Bachi ~ Letter Bee has announced that the story will be adapted into a short anime film that will screen in ten Japanese cities this fall as part of this year’s Jump Super Anime Tour promotional event.

The Animax satellite TV network has formally announced that award winning author Yumemakura Baku’s sci-fi novel Kurozuka will be adapted into an anime.
Third Higurashi Anime Series to be OVA
The official Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni anime series homepage has officially confirmed that the franchise’s third anime series will be a 3 episode OVA series titled “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei”.
Bandai Announces Simultaneous Worldwide Anime Releases
Bandai Visual of Japan has announced plans (http://release.nikkei.co.jp/detail.cfm?relID=188010&lindID=5) to release Blu-ray anime discs simultaneously worldwide beginning this fall. Bandai Visual’s new BD discs will include multiple optional subtitle languages, including English, and a constant pricing in all regions. Presently, the only title so far confirmed for this release strategy is a Blu-ray release of the Freedom OVA series.
Ga-Rei Anime Adaptation Announced
The advertising “obi” on new copies of the sixth collected volume of Segawa Hajime’s supernatural action comedy manga series Enchained Spiritual Beast Ga-Rei announce that the story will be adapted into an anime television series titled “Ga-Rei Zero.” The anime will be produced by AIC Spirits.
