    Shield VEXILLE To Debut In August 2007

    In 2077 - 10 years has passed since Japan had decided to leave the United Nations to go into isolation. They have completely blocked the islands with an ultra magnetic field which prevents anyone to see what is going inside, nor for people to travel in/out of the country. This was a result to opposing to a treaty which UN has passed, preventing the development of all bio and robot technology which has evolved drastically and has become a threat to the human beings.

    When Japan finally begins to move, the US government sends in a special force team SWORD, lead by a female commander Vexille, to investigate what is really happening inside the closed country. What has become of Japan? Why did this happen? What is Daiwa trying to do? Who is Maria, and why is she helping Vexille? Will Vexille be able to find out the answers to avoid the world from falling apart? One mystery leads to another which directs to the dramatic ending....

    Shochiku chose this year's Tokyo Anime Fair to rollout its upcoming SF Action / CGI animated film Vexille: 2077 Nippon Sakoku. A symposium held on March 22nd introduced cast, staff and a first ever video sneak peek. Over 1000 people attended making it a standing room only affair. Principal Photography on the project began in May 2006.

    Production: OXYBOT, Avex Entertainment, CCRE, Shochiku, TBS, Shogakukan, Shogakukan Production. Directed by Fumihiko Sori (Ping Pong / Producer on Appleseed), Scenario written by Fumihiko Sori and Haruka Handa (Appleseed), Music by Paul Oakenfold (Matrix Reloaded). The nationwide theatrical premiere in Japan is scheduled for August 2007. Cast include Meisa Kuroki, Yasuko Matsuyuki and Shosuke Tanihara.     Mink To Perform Vexille Theme Song

    23 year old South Korean singer Mink will take on the main theme of the CG anime film Vexille: 2077 Nippon Sakoku. She'll perform both English and Japanese versions of the title track "Together Again".

    Release for the single is undetermined. Her past work on the Innocent Blue theme to the film Aoki Ookami was released in 60 countries. She's mastered singing in Japanese, English, and Korean languages and has been recognized as a world performer. here.

    Vexille To Be Released In 53 Countries

    Negotiations are either complete or ongoing to have Vexille: 2077 Nippon Sakoku be released in 53 countries.

    Vexille Soundtrack Scheduled For Simultaneous Worldwide Release

    Warner Music plans to release the CD soundtrack to the science fiction CG anime film Vexille: 2077 Nippon Sakoku simultaneously in ten countries worldwide on August 18th, 2007. This marks first time ever that a OST for a Japanese film has been distributed on this kind of large scale. Contributing artists include Basement Jaxx, The Prodigy, Mink, Paul Oakenfold and DJ Shadow. Apparantly many are contributing brand new material created exclusively for the movie.
