Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan for next summer
Manga creator Bow Ditama has confirmed that his Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!! science-fiction comedy manga will be animated for release in Japan in summer 2009. The story revolves around Puragu or Jūden-chan, a mysterious office lady (OL) who came to our world from a parallel world to "charge" up dejected people.
New Kojika OVA
The official Japanese homepage for the Kodomo no Jikan anime series has announced that the series’ forthcoming anime will be released in OVA format. The sixth volume of Kaworu Watashiya’s Kodomo no Jikan manga will go on sale January 21, 2009 with a limited edition release that includes a new 25 minute OVA adapting the manga’s popular “Shiro-chan, Kuro-chan” story.
Miyamoto Musashi Movie in 2009
Director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Sky Crawlers, Avalon) will reportedly write the screenplay for Production I.G’s historical samurai anime film Miyamoto Musashi: Soken ni Haseru Yume. Miyamoto Musashi (1584-1645) is the legendary founder of the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu style of simultaneously weilding two swords.
Two Aoi Bandana Light Novels to be Animated
Japanese publisher Shueisha has reportedly revealed, via a Japanese retailer solicitation, that two of author Aoi Bandana’s light novel series will be adapted into manga and anime. Project MP and Tatakae! Shochikubai Koto Gakko Manga Kenkyubu.
Sengoku Basara ready for 2009
Production I.G will develop an anime adaptation of Capcom’s action game series Sengoku Basara, known in America as “Devil Kings.”

Production I.G to Produce 3DCG Feature Film
Production I.G. has formally revealed its development of a full CG anime film titled “Hottarake no Shima: Haruka to Maho no Kagami”. The film is the story of teen girl “Haruka,” who gets lost in a mystical world of creatures that collect the forgotten and abandoned treasures of childhood.
Asura Cryin’ Anime Announced
An anime TV series adaptation of Gakuto Mikumo and Nao Watanuki’s light novel series Asura Cryin’ was formally announced. The novel series relates the story of a high school boy haunted by the ghost of a childhood girl friend.
Evangelion 2.0 to be released next summer
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, the second of four planned “Rebuild of Evangelion” features, will premier early next summer. The first movie, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, opened in September 2007.
