Romaji is helpful for beginners, but it's not that useful in the long run. Something I regret doing when I was learning Japanese was relying too much on romaji, and not getting enough practice at hiragana and katakana.
My computer has Japanese input, so I can help to write hiragana and katakana if you can't.
I took five years of Japanese classes and I can say that learning another language is fun and useful but if you don't practice and use it on a daily basis then you're going to forget it. "You either use it or you lose it." I still remember all the hiragana and katakana and I remember most of the particles and sentence structure, but I forgot a lot of the vocabulary and kanji I learned because I didn't use it enough. That's why I think learning a new language is useless unless you're going to use it enough to remember it. It might be helpful to learn some vocabulary and basic phrases though--you never know when you'll need it!![]()
that's why i use english daily...
And i can say the same thing as Stuey about french![]()
