ヾ( ' - '*) Okay, almost all of us learned our first Japanese word from a certain cartoon character who speaks a language different from ours ne?
So I... σ(∧_∧;) ...was just wondering what's your first.
Mine would be the magic word: 'arigato'.

Oh... well, I'd say "Ohayo", though I learned it from my mother, she studied japanese for 7-8 year.
Fortunately I inherited all her dictionaries and books![]()

Well that's marvelous~ (*゚ー゚) My aunt gave me her elementary books but I don't read them much because of being busy. I think Japanese is easy even if you self-teach yourself.
I actually learned (sorry for the term) 'bakero' from Gatekeepers~ it's probably my fifth. (._.)
Besides Konnichiwa, the first word I learned was 'tada' which means free. I then taught it to my mom because she loves that word in English.![]()
I don't remember for sure, probably "ohayou" or "arigatou" or something like that. Actually, come to think of it, it was probably "sensei"!
For me it was "ohayou"... because Japanese teacher came to our Middle School on the exchange program.. And he always get a good laugh since he taught as "ohayou" and we were in "Ohio"................. you didn't get it??.......nobody got that...![]()

I'm beginning to learn Japanese in my own time.
But the first word I learnt was "konnichiwa", but that was because of Chappelle's Show![]()
