New Kouji Masunari Movie Announced
According to the Japanese Moon Phase Message Board, Kamichu & Risky Safety director Kouji Masunari and animation studio A-1 Pictures will produce an anime feature film tentatively titled "The Uchuu Show" ("The Space Show"), based on a concept created by "Besa Me Mucho" (the collaborative team of director Koji Masunari, screenwriter Hideyuki Kurata, and producer Tomonori Ochikoshi). The film about the summer vacation adventure of 4 fifth grade children is described as an epic scale adventure that surpasses even Star Wars.
Golgo 13 Anime TV Series Announced
Small text on the top corner of the cover of the January 10th issue of Japan's Big Comic magazine reveals plans for an anime television series adaptation of Takao Saito's long running action drama manga serial Golgo 13. Reportedly the new anime will premier next spring. The Golgo 13 manga series, which began in 1968, currently has 147 collected volumes and is still ongoing, and has been adapted into two live action motion pictures in 1973 & 1977, an anime motion picture in 1983, and a 1998 anime OVA.
Third Gag Manga Biyori Series Announced
Japanese television network Kids-Station has announced plans to broadcast the Gag Manga Biyori 3 anime television series next year. Akitaro Daichi, director behind the first two Masuda Kousuke Gekijou Gag Manga Biyori television series will return to helm the third series. Next Fist of the North Star Anime Release Scheduled
The official Japanese Hokuto no Ken ("Fist of the North Star") website has announced that the Shin Kyuseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken Toki Den (New Saviour Legend Fist of the North Star Toki Story) OVA series, originally planned for released in late 2007, will debut on March 26, 2008.
Strike Witches TV Anime Announced?
An uncited report on the Japanese Moon Phase message board claims that the Strike Witches multimedia project will be developed into an anime television series. The report also states that a manga adaptation will begin in the March 2008 issue of Comp Ace Magazine. Gonzo produced a short Strike Witches anime OVA in January 2007.
Magicians Academy Anime Announced
An official Japanese website has opened to announced the development of an anime television series adaptation of the Magicians Academy series of fantasy comedy novels by writer Ichiro Sakaki and illustrator Blade.
Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu Anime Planned?
The Japanese Moon Phase message board reports an unconfirmed and uncited announcement that author Kagami Takaya and illustrator Toyota Saori's long running fantasy novel series "Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu" (Legend of the Legendary Hero") will be adapted into anime. The report claims that an official confirmation of the anime will be published in the March 2008 issue of Dragon Magazine. More at: AN
