    Pokeball Tokyo Anime Fair 2007 Details

    TheTokyo Anime Center has announced the "Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007 2nd Executive Committee" was held by the Tokyo metropolitan government on January 25th. The implementation and budget plan for this year's event were discussed at that time.The Tokyo International Anime Fair 2007 will take place March 22-25, 2007.

    The main events of the fair are the trade show, the 6th Tokyo Anime Awards and The Creator's World section which gives new and unsigned animation talent a chance to shine by showing their works. A Special project this year is the "Anime to Robot" (anime and robot) exhibition.

    In addition a number of symposiums related to overseas anime distrubution and copyrights will be held. As of January 25th a total of 745 exhibitor stands and 230 domestic and foreign exhibiting companies have been confirmed.

    The 2007 event will aim at drawing 24,000 business day attendees and 76,000 public day attendees over the 4 days of the event.

    The business days are March 22-23. The fair will have its doors open from 10:00-18:00 for the first 3 days and from 10:00-17:30 on the final day.

    Admittance will be accepted up until 30 minutes prior to the closing time. The general admission fee on public days is 1,000 Yen (800 Yen in advance), high school students and the disabled can get in free of charge. The venue is halls 1,2 and 3 of the Tokyo Big Sight.

    Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF; in Japanese: 東京国際アニメフェア) is Japan's largest anime or animation trade show. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government working with local animation companies has sponsored TAF since 2002. It takes place in late March at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, Japan. The first two days are business days, but it is opened up to the general public over the weekend.

    Besides being an international trade fair, TAF includes related events such as business symposiums, a "Tokyo Anime Award" competition for domestic and foreign films, animation screenings, an "Awards of Merit" ceremony and exhibit recognizing people who have made substantial contributions to the local industry, and a spacious "Creator's World" exhibit to showcase promising animators.
